And finally...an actual card on my blog!

I decided that I should probably get a jump on my Christmas cards, so I did. One of my favorite ways to color is using the Gamsol Magic technique. I was fortunate enough to actually see Cecilia Ross demonstrate this technique several years ago at an event held by our mutual Stampin' Up! upline. I have been hooked ever since.

When the mood strikes, I like to grab several rubber stamps, stamp several images in StazOn Jet Black, on Shimmery White or Whisper White paper and then sit in front of the TV and color with my Prismacolor Premier pencils, Gamsol and stumps.

I got a few moments peace the other night and was able to color four images. Then I used those images to make some cards. Here is the first one I finished.

RECIPE
Stamps: Pelican image is from Impression Obsession, sentiment from SU! Tiny Talk
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Adirondack
Paper: SU! Pacific Point, Baha Breeze, Whisper White
Accessories: Snowflake eyelets, silver brads, SU! Dimensionals, Stickles, Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, Gamsol, blending stumps

The big move...

It took me countless hours, but I finally finished moving all of my stamping & crafting stuff into my youngest son's walk-in closet. (He's a boy; he'll never need it!)

Here's what my craft area used to look like:

Here's what it looks like now that it's all neat and organized. So, no more excuses for me, right? Looks like I just have to stamp!

A new beginning...

Well, I couldn't help myself. I had to stay up last night to see how the Presidential election would go. I was a little disappointed that John McCain didn't win. I personally think he shot himself in the foot in picking Sarah Palin as his running mate. She's just too right-wing for a lot of folks, myself included.

With that said, I'd really like to see the country unite and give Barack Obama a chance before condemning the man. Some of the comments I've heard from the people who didn't vote for him are just mind boggling. People actually believe the Apocolypse is impending!? Um, drama much?

I will be hoping that Obama will be able to walk the walk, since he's already proven that he can talk the talk. Here's hoping for a bright, new future!

Ok, still working on it...

Alright, well after searching many, many sites for free blogger templates, I've settled on this one. I really wanted a nice tropical template, but I also wanted to incorporate something with coffee. Unfortunately, I couldn't find both so this is it. Let me know what you think.
